Fear & Loathing on the Campaign Trail

In 1972 Hunter S Thompson, the creator and king of Gonzo journalism, covered the US presidential campaign for Rolling Stone Magazine, alongside the establishment newsmen of Washington. The result is a classic piece of reportage and a fantastic ride on the rollercoaster of Hunter's uniquely savage imagination. His loyal companion was Ralph who captured the spirit and passion of the campaign in his own savage and twisted lines of ink. Steadman's imagery became grotesque and crazed in the circus of the campaign and mercilessly laid bear the hypocrisies and stripped away the genteel facades of the candidates.
