Comparative Narrative...

I have recently learned that because John Kerry knew people, who in the 60's and into the 70's, were members of, or were sympathetic towards, a radical political group known as the 'Weathermen', or 'The Weather Underground', he also must be a Terrorist, by association. Adverse frenetic Republican opinion like this is being used as a blunt instrument, a last ditch struggle to the death, to ward off the inevitable. This is the same black market ammunition that Richard Nixon used to uphold his own collapsing administration.

If John Kerry is a Terrorist then George W. Bush, by the same standard of assessment, must be the longed for illegitimate warmongering son of Adolf Hitler he never had. But, and in spite of saying that, I in no way wish to imply that the Weathermen were wrong at the most active time of their existence. Their 'days of rage' in Chicago were a natural cause and effect result of the climate of greed and social injustice which, unfortunately, still proliferates throughout the rest of the Union and abroad. As one of their own, Brian Flanagan, now a Tavern host in New York, puts it fairly bluntly, 'When you feel you have right on your side, you can do some pretty horrific things'.

Now ain't that a fact?! But, bless their hearts, the Weathermen, back then, probably had no idea just how horrific the world was to become; how repressive, how violent, how hypocritical, how unspeakably evil, how religiously perverted, how crass and how ruthless and stupid.

Maybe, looking back to that more idealistic and innocent age, the Weathermen were prophets.....

It makes me so desperately sad to witness just how unforgivably wretched our world has become. In spite of the damage and the selfless will of some to help and heal, we learn nothing. All we ever seem to do is 'put it behind us and move forward', which is, in effect, a kind of battle cry to do nothing and carry on as before.

And while I am ruminating- I am sure you ruminate too- isn't it time to put some severe restraints on business practices like for instance, getting involved in financing arms deals to fund insurrections of whatever persuasion, for profit? Isn't it time to make it a treasonable offence for any businessman to speculate in this area? Isn't it time to make business and weaponry a forbidden tryst- like cannibalism and bestiality. Cannot we hurl these filthy fumblings in soiled crotches back to the Middle Ages along with burning witches and the rack.

Business should never be allowed to justify mean, thug ugly deals for any reason. You should be instantly in the region of the unthinkable, unspeakable twilight world of the slime nit- a creature that only lives on discarded cancer cells waiting to be incinerated. And that is only a warning!
